James Muigai Kamau, a Civil engineer by training, is a highly accomplished, solutions-focused Supply Chain Management and Operations Professional with over 20 years of experience in FMCG, FSI, telecoms and Oil & Gas multinational organizations in Africa including in emerging high-growth markets (Kenya & Nigeria) and an impressive record of achievements.
Muigai has held senior and executive management positions across Sub-Saharan Africa where he has consistently demonstrated exceptional leadership and execution skills by spearheading strategic initiatives. Notably, he served as the Group Director of Administration at Equity Group Holdings PLC, where he made significant contributions. Before his tenure at Equity Group, Muigai held pivotal roles at Telkom Kenya and Helios Towers Tanzania. Muigai's journey in the corporate landscape also includes impactful roles at East African Breweries, a Diageo subsidiary, where he held senior positions. Among other senior roles at Celtel//Zain/Airtel, Muigai also served as the Director of Supply Chain Management at Airtel Nigeria, a subsidiary of Bharti Airtel International B.V. During his tenure, he focused on enhancing cost efficiency and implementing robust supply chain strategies.
He is a holder of an Executive MBA from Strathmore Business School and a Certificate of Specialization in Strategy from the Harvard Business School Online. Muigai is also a member of the Association for Supply Chain Management (ASCM), an Affiliate Member of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS), and an Associate Member of the Kenya Institute of Supplies Management (KISM).
