Abdulhameed Babalola is the Head of Risk, Compliance & Control at UAC Foods Limited, a member of the UACN Plc. In this strategic leadership role, he oversees the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of the company’s enterprise risk management, internal control, compliance, and data protection frameworks.

Since joining UAC Foods in 2023, Abdulhameed has successfully revitalized the internal control environment, instituted a proactive fraud risk management program, and embedded a robust risk management culture across all business functions. Under his leadership, the company has consistently maintained a 100% annual compliance record with zero regulatory fines or penalties.

As the appointed Data Protection Officer, Abdulhameed has ensured full compliance with the Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA) 2023 and the General Application and Implementation Directive (GAID) 2025. He has led the company to secure and retain the annual Data Protection Trust Mark since its inception.

Abdulhameed brings over 15 years of diverse experience across manufacturing, oil and gas, construction, financial services, and ICT. He has previously held senior roles at Julius Berger Nigeria Plc, PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) Limited, Vatebra Limited, Union Bank of Nigeria Plc, and Wapic Insurance Plc.

He holds a First-Class Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s degree in Accounting from the University of Lagos, as well as a Distinction in Accountancy & Finance from Yaba College of Technology Business School. He is an Associate Chartered Accountant (ACA) of ICAN, a Certified Data Protection Officer (CDPO) and a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors. He is also a Fellow of the Institute of Information Management (FPIIM) and an active member of the Compliance Institute of Nigeria.

Abdulhameed is a certified ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor and Implementer and a graduate of the Senior Management Leadership Course at Oxford University, UK. He is a recognized thought leader, having served as a panelist at the 2025 Deloitte African Risk and Compliance Forum on Fraud Risk Management.

As a humanitarian, he mentored lots of managers and young graduates on how to excel in their chosen career. He loves to play football, tennis and scrabble. Also loves seeing adventurous, epic and inspirational movies.
